Vital Signs: Wider U.S. Trade Deficit

"The U.S. trade gap widened in June, as exports declined far faster than imports. The trade deficit increased to $53.1 billion from $50.8 billion in May, its broadest margin since October 2008. June’s trade deficit indicates the economy may have grown even slower during the second quarter than the government estimated, while the 2.3% drop in exports suggests global demand has cooled."
